Many years ago it was discovered that a component of a glaucoma drug had an unexpected external benefit that resulted in longer, thicker and stronger eyelashes. Called Prostaglandin analogues (PGAs), this class of drugs was modified to be used as an agent to promote lash growth in the beauty industry. Known as enophthalmos, it literally means that the eyeball is displaced in the orbital socket. Some of these side effects began to occur as early as one month after beginning treatment.
